Support young entrepreneurs as they create and sell their innovative products for the holiday season.

Join us this December for a festive Logan Center Family Saturday celebrating all things children’s creativity during the holidays! From vibrant sounds with the Hyde Park Youth Symphony to West African Drumming to creative Kidpreneur vendors we will celebrate the brilliant mind of the child.

Logan Center Community Arts hosts this family-friendly event on the first Saturday of the month. Cultivate your child’s artistic curiosity with thematic art workshops led by local artists, art organizations, and UChicago students. Families can sample a range of activities for ages 2–12 through hour-long sessions led by local artists. Every Family Saturday is FREE, and all supplies are provided! Simply RSVP >>


WORKSHOPS & EVENTS

2-3pm: Workshop with Sapphire & Crystals
Explore your artistic voice in this workshop led by Sapphire & Crystals, a Chicago-based collective of women artists of African descent. While you're here, explore our current gallery exhibition, Sapphire & Crystals: Freedom's Muse, featuring work from members of the collective.

2-4pm: Holiday Photos & Cards with Elizabeth Myles
Exhibit your family's unique style and personality with fun and creative holiday photos and cards designed by Elizabeth Myles.

2-4pm: Instrument Share with Hyde Park Youth Symphony
Ever wanted to learn to play an instrument? Visit the instrument petting zoo and learn how to make and listen to a variety of sounds created by an array of instruments. 

2-4pm: Workshop with Live Arts Studio
Enjoy holiday card- and craft-making with Live Arts Studio! Create a meaningful gift to give to a loved one, or to yourself, in celebration of the holiday season.

3-4pm: West African Drumming with Victoria Boeteng
Engage with exciting African history along with the basic sounds of Djembe and Doudoun Drums. This workshop is led by acclaimed African Drum Instructor and Self-Autism Advocate Victoria Boateng
