Garden Chess Set

THE PROJECT

This immense outdoor chess set will be set in one of the greenspaces or paved areas of the Logan Center. The board is a 16-foot square space of black and white concrete tiles, and the individual game pieces range from 2-5 feet tall.

Garden Chess Set creates a space that encourages public participation around the Logan Center and inspires patrons to engage with the Logan Center’s lush outdoor spaces. Chess is a fun game to play and to watch. With the many floors and high views of the Logan Center, this chess set is visible from many spots in the building with the moves of all players completely legible due to the large size of the chess board.
