About the Artists

Vienna Carroll’s bold voice wends through time from late-19th/early 20th-century Negro Spirituals to contemporary Blues. Honed by her first musical love, the Black Church, Carroll’s rich, soulful sound melds into a style best termed Afro-Future Roots. Carroll is joined by The Folk, who have been with her for over 15 years: Keith Johnston on guitar, Stanley Banks on bass, and Washboard XT/Newman Taylor Bake on washboard and percussion.
